Average salary in Dubai 2026
We could read no official average salary for Dubai, and this page does not fill that gap with a private survey. The Dubai Statistics Center and the federal statistics centre refused our requests, and their latest survey we could read, the 2019 labour survey, gives no pay figure. The amounts in circulation come from recruitment sites, voluntary reports or copies that cannot be checked at the source. One public marker exists: the remote work permit requires at least 3,500 dollars a month, about AED 12,854. That visa threshold is not an average salary, and it says nothing about what a local employer pays. What remains can be calculated without a survey: the Emirates levy no tax on a foreign employee's salary, so gross stays equal to net. The tool below turns your salary into monthly net pay.

What a Dubai salary does not cover
On AED 367,250 gross, about 100,000 dollars, a foreign employee keeps AED 367,250. They pay into no pension fund as in most European countries: the employer pays an end-of-service gratuity, and health goes through compulsory insurance. In Dubai, a 5% fee on rent is charged to the tenant as well. Untaxed income is not an automatic exit from your home country's tax net either: it applies its own rules on departure.
How to judge an offer without an official figure
Ask for a written offer separating basic pay from housing and transport allowances, since only some parts count towards the end-of-service gratuity. Then compare it with your own net pay and the Emirates price level on the cost of living in Dubai page. As soon as an official Dubai survey becomes readable, this page will use it.

Questions
What is the average salary in Dubai?
We could read no recent official figure. The Dubai and UAE statistics sites refused our requests, and the numbers online come from private sites or copies that cannot be verified. This page would rather say so than show one. To judge an offer, look at your net pay, the cost of living and the share of housing the employer pays.
What income do you need to live in Dubai and work remotely?
The authorities ask for at least 3,500 dollars a month for the one-year remote work permit, about AED 12,854 at the dirham's fixed rate. That is a condition for getting the permit, not an income sufficient for a central rent, and not a measure of what an employee earns.
Is there income tax on a salary in Dubai?
Not for a foreign employee: the Emirates have no personal income tax, federal or by emirate, so our engine takes nothing away. Gulf nationals pay into a pension scheme. Self-employed activity can fall under the 9% corporate tax above one million dirhams of turnover.
